Snow time...

As we left Rapid City to make or way back to Minnesota...we noticed the days were getting much colder...and it had snowed overnight...the first snow of the year! It was about 25 degrees out and really pretty...
Since I'm a native Southern California girl...snow amazes me...I find it so beautiful! We get snow in the mountains by my house...but I have to drive to it...or gaze at it from a distance...here it was everywhere...and wonderful!
We stopped in for lunch at the very touristy Wall Drug...we had to see it for ourselves...there are signs for hundreds of mile before you actually get there...I liked the signs...they were all different...very retro looking signs...not giant billboards...I should have shown you some...oh well...you have to go see them yourself! Wall Drug is more than just a drug store...in fact, they still have a pharmacy there....but it's much, much more!
It's the home of the world famous jackalope!
While we were there we made some friends...
We got going again...what difference a few days made on the landscape...
We saw the sign to exit to go to the Badlands...we loved it so much the first time...why not see it under snow...

Don has a senior card for the National Parks...so its free whenever we visit...all the more reason to go!
It was very different under the snow...just gorgeous!

We walked up these stairs and onto the trails just a week earlier...not today though...I didn't have the right shoes...we didn't want to take a chance that we would fall...no one was anywhere near...
Some of the friends we had met on our last trip were out trying to forage for some lunch...and pose for a picture...they're such hams!
The Badlands were just as wonderful the second time...in a different way...but we had to get back on the road and move on...
Until next time...enjoy your day!!!

The park in snow is gorgeous. My roll caught you right as you posted-it is on a time roll and not by the alphabet.

What a difference some snow makes - it seems all the more wild and vast out there but beautiful all the same!
Cool drug store and looks like you had lots of fun there!
Best wishes
Christine
