A few projects.....

I've been doing some Spring cleaning and organizing the past couple weeks...I know...hard to contain your excitement about cleaning and organizing!
As I've said before...I have a small home...and my sewing/den has to be very functional...its a big room...25 x 14...but I use about 75% for sewing and other crafts...so while reading some posts on a Facebook quilting site...I got this idea of how to use my ironing board as an ironing surface and storage as one. We bought the shelving unit at Ikea...it was the exact height and width of my ironing board. Don cut the legs off my ironing board and attached it to the top of the unit using tiny auto clamps...great...don't you think!! It's really sturdy now too! I saw lots of people who used boards for their ironing surface, but because I make totes, doll clothes and a variety of other things...I need that small curve that my board already has...plus...it was a lot cheaper to make!!
Here's something else...Don works at Bass Pro Shop since he retired...part time...one of the perks is the deep discount they give their employees...so he got these boxes in the fishing department...$2 each...
They are perfect for my rolls of floss. I had them loose in a different storage box...but these work much better! There are even more sections you can add...but this way works for me...now I just need a couple more! He got 3...which holds all my floss for now....but I can always use more colors....
I also wanted to show you the map Don made me...it was a surprise...my wonderful next door neighbor helped him by keeping it at their house and adding more and more glue to the map to make it nice and solid...then Don made a frame for it and mounted it....
It's for all my Etsy sales...clever man! Red are all the doll carriers...blue are tote, diaper and zipper bags...yellow are the wood products that Don makes...
He and my neighbor added most of the pins by going on Google maps and locating all the towns I sold things in ...now I just look up the town as I go along and stick in a pin...its fun to see all the places at a glance that we have sold to! Don decided to just put one of every color in each city...otherwise it would be too hard to see...so I will stick to his plan...I love that he thinks of wonderful things like this for me...he is so thoughtful and kind!!

In other news...we got a text from our daughter in law...a baby picture...the baby is growing so fast...August will be here so soon and I have much to do before then! I have been buying lots of books...this little baby will have a fun library before you know it!

We have been getting some much needed rain...in fact...it's raining as I type! Not a whole lot...but anything helps this year! I love the rain, but I wonder if I love it because it's rare...or that I just love rain...something to ponder!

Until next time....enjoy your day!!!
