I'm back...sort of...

I know I haven't been around in blogland much lately...it's not that I haven't wanted too...but things...well...they've been a little difficult around here...I am not one to share too much personal information...I think some things we should just keep private...but I thought we could use your help...if you wouldn't mind...
It's nothing too serious...I don't want you to think that...its just that ever since Don retired...he's not been feeling well...it started with a cough...a dry cough...that was constant...people and doctors kept telling us...it's going around...it will go away...well it's been 5 weeks...and it hasn't left...the real problem is the shortness of breath that has gone along with the coughing...and the mystery of it all...
He keeps going back to the doctor and they keep giving him a different antibiotic...a different medicine for something...first they said it was viral...that it's going around...then why didn't I get it?? Then they thought it might be Bronchitis...no...it wasn't that...chest xrays are good...what could this mystery illness be?? Now the thought is to try a steroid treatment and wait 2 weeks...that was 4 days ago...he's still coughing...still short of breath...but he thinks maybe the steroids might be working...
because this has been the farthest he's strayed from the house other than a trip to San Diego for Joseph's wrist surgery and what a bad time that was...I thought I was going to have to admit him down there...and to the doctor's office...and my sister's house for Easter dinner yesterday...which wore him out...today he felt up to running a couple errands with me! Anyway...getting back to you...I was hoping some extra prayers might help...like I said...it's not a serious illness...just a very frustrating and at some points...very scary...like when he can't catch his breath because the coughing is so violent...or when he pulled a muscle next to his diaphragm and had to go to get a powerful pain shot to help him rest...and when he's feeling so low that I can't cheer him up...so your prayers would be appreciated....I'm sure they will work. Don is the love of my life...and when he is sad...I am sad..when he is hurting...I am too...you get it...so enough of my whining and carrying on...I will try to get back into posting...I just haven't done much but sew and take care of Don and housework and garden...so I really haven't had much to tell you...life has been...well...not at all exciting...just make it through the day and hope the next one is better...but I think ...and I pray...that the next one IS going to be better and that we have turned this corner and we're NOT going back there again!!
So...until next time...enjoy your day!!!

Gosh, Linda, I'm sorry to hear this. You don't suppose he could have whooping cough, do you? It's going around here and even adults are getting it. Apparently the shots we got as kids wore off. At any rate, you've been in my thoughts lately and now even more so. Hugs! And take care of you, too.

Prayers, of course! Asthma or copd?? Once a fungal infection in the lungs led to copd here. Keep searching for answers and keep us updated.

Oh Linda, I'm so sorry to hear that Don is still not feeling well. I will definitely keep him in my prayers, and hope that he is over this soon! Take care of yourself, too, sweetie. The caregiver always tends to neglect themselves!

XOXO,

Cyndi
