Outdoors Wednesdays and baby it's HOT outside!!

Summer has finally reared its ugly head and is it ever hot outside....
Even the cactus and succulents are asking for a drink of water...

This sedum says ...please give me a drink. I had to get all of my gardening done before it gets too hot. I checked the thermometer under my apple tree at 9:30 this morning and it was already 88 degrees.

Even this guy wants to find a nice spot in the shade!

The zinnias are doing fine though...they seem to love the heat.

I took close up shots because that's what I like looking at.

These yellow ones are getting quite big.

The hostas have lots of flowers, but they are in the deep shade of my yard.

The Dusty Miller is starting to flower again too. That's one that loves dry heat as well.

These guys are doing OK, but they were screaming for some water....

She's a little parched too.

I am done with gardening for today and it's only 10:00 AM. It is supposed to get to 102 degrees today and so you will find me in my cool back bedroom with an icy glass of lemonade and a good book to read...ahhh...summertime...

I'm with you! Too hot to be outside! Your garden has some lovely things. Zinnias really do love the heat. Enjoy that lemonade and book! Thanks for visiting my blog. I love the tree shot in your header.

We have had a few days of near 100* up here in WA too! We aren't used to that! Looks like our temps have settled down to the low 80's, though, still too hot for me!
I love your shots of the zinnias! I really like that flower but forget to plant any this year!
Thanks for dropping by for my Outdoor Wed. post, too!
Lemonade and a book sounds delish! I'm off to go rustle some up for myself!

It's hot here too although not nearly as hot as it is where you are! We're getting rain here right now which is nice for the flowers. Lovely photos! Happy Wednesday.

Blessings,
Sandi

88 degrees, that is hot! It's only 65 where I live today. I'd like it if it was just a little hotter. Your photos, like your flowers are stunning. Happy OW.

Great photos. Wow you really get that hot there? You said no rain till fall in my blog comments. That would be really bad here. We call that a severe drought which is what we had the last two years. I am so glad we are getting some rain showers this year.

I much prefer heat to cold--any time! Your flower shots are great! Since it's winter here in NZ, I am so jealous!

Such beautiful pictures. Apparently the flowers are surviving the heat. We reached 100 today.
