Old is new again...

I wanted to show you the project I worked on yesterday...it all started with this rusty bucket...I've had this big bucket for many years and I liked the rusty quality...but I thought I need an update and since I changed things around on my front porch...I thought I'd give it a new look and move it to the back porch...I should have taken a picture before the new orange color...but I forgot!
A few coats of paint later and it was ready for a few plants...I wanted an eggplant...but for some reason they always get eaten by gophers...last year I lost 3! If the gophers can get it in here...they're welcome to it! I moved some cilantro from another pot and a viola from one of the teacups...I got a pony pack of cosmos when I bought the paint...so I thought one might do OK in here too...
A little gnome who brought his own umbrella for shade thought it was the perfect place to hang out...
What do you think?? I think it looks all ready for Spring in it's new orange...and yes...those are mums in the pot next to it...they don't know that's it's Spring...they bloom all year long!
This morning we woke to rain...it's supposed to rain for a few days, so I'm glad I got this done...now I can sit on the back porch in the rain and it will be bright and cheerful!
Until next time...enjoy your day!!!

Hi Linda - your old/new planter is a great color! It's singing out 'Ready for summer!'
The gnome and mushrooms are sooo cute!
Best wishes

I would have never though of orange, but I love it with the blue pot. I hope your eggplant love it as much as your cute little gnome. You are so clever to put flowers in with it along with cilantro. That reminds me to plant some more cilantro. My parsly thrived this winter, but guess the cilantro didn't like the frost.
Enjoy your back porch while you can...I am remebering the heat last summer.
