Fish Creek Canyon...

Yesterday Don and drove up to the local mountains north of our house for a hike in Fish Creek Canyon...I have told you about it before...it is where two groves of Aspens grow...and we were hoping to see some wonderful Fall color...as well as enjoy a walk in the fresh mountain air...
This hike never disappoints...I am in awe of the beauty in my own back yard!! These mountains are what I look at every day I walk out my front door...and believe me when we take a drive up there I am in awe of what I see...every time I go!
I am only showing you a tease as they say... of the forest ...the first impressions of my day...

This is the first thing you see as you walk down the trail...it's the smaller of the two groves....

Imagine yourself walking down to the beauty here...and the sound of running water...it's such a peaceful place...

Being up here is pure joy to me...I feel refreshed and ready to get back to my everyday life...I know it my sound kind of weird....but that's how these walks through the woods make me feel...energized!!
People can complain all they like about what it costs to protect these lands...but it's worth every penny! We live in such a beautiful state...I feel lucky to be allowed to walk in this forest with my camera to take home with me a little bit of God's beauty!! Like I said this was just the first few minutes of our time down there...I will show you more tomorrow...it's hard to pick from all the pictures I took...I hope you enjoy the view...I feel so blessed that all Don and I had to do was drive a few miles...get a hiking permit at the ranger's station...they're free...buy an Adventure Pass to park all day anywhere up on the mountain...it pays for the upkeep of the area...and walk as long as we wanted...I feel refreshed just looking at the pictures myself!
On a different note..you can still sign up for my give away...here...and thanks to all of you who explained very simply...I need simple...about how to link my old post...so if you click...here...you can go back and view the prize and the rules...there must be rules...and I don't want to leave anyone out...well...back to reality...the laundry is not going to do itself and there's a stack of ironing...and dinner to plan...not to mention all the sewing I need to do...it's Monday again and I must get back to my life...hope yours is wonderful!!
Enjoy the day!!!

Hi LInda, it doesn't sound weird at all - that's exactly how I feel after a walk in the woods. It's one of my favorite things to do! Your photos are gorgeous! What a beautiful area - it looks like the Sierras? I know you live in CA, but not sure which area. I used to live in Sacramento and miss the spectacular beauty of the Sierra Nevada Mtns.! Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Linda, what a beautiful day to take such lovely photos! I love being outside in nature, especially in the fall!
Thank you for visiting my cozy kitchen and leaving me such a thoughtful comment. If you have the apples, you definitely should make a loaf of apple bread! I think walnuts would be delicious in it, too! Have fun with it!
Blessings,
Leslie :)

Beautiful views...can't wait to see what more you have to show us (yes, you're a fine tease...) ;o) Our leaves are gone - probably halfway to California by now - we had a week and a half of rains, and the past 5 days have been relentless gale-force winds....no leaves left....boo hoo.... Glad you figured out the linky-dink think. See, easy peasy, right? Have a great rest of the week!! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
