I wanted to show you some of the things I got at the quilt show when I went last week...these are buttons made by Button Mad...It is a South African company that exists to give employment to women there...I met the ladies who started the company...they were wonderful!
Here they are...they are mother and daughter...and so nice...check them out here...
Of course I had to get some wool...I stared at this pack of 1/8 yards for a while...the colors are so wonderful...it had to come home with me!
I got some Autumn colors too...
And some new patterns...I can't wait to get started on these...
Yesterday morning we were awakened very early to the sound of thunder and heavy rain on the roof...It was really loud...like the bolts were hitting our yard...Lola didn't like that it was raining...as much as she likes water...she was not fond of the rain...she just sat there and wondered when it would stop...
It rained for hours...
And it rained a lot! We needed the rain and we hardly ever get rain in the Summer...so it didn't bother me...it cooled things down a bit...
But this girl was not too happy about it...she was just going to wait things out...finally as quickly as it came...the skies cleared up and then it got HOT! We waited until after dinner for a nice long walk...it's pretty hot outside today too...and it's supposed to be in the middle to high 90's all week, but after hearing that it has been over 100 in Texas for 37 days in a row and should get to 110 today...I won't feel sorry for myself...I'll just get my heavy chores done early and then see about getting started on some of those new patterns...
Enjoy your day, my friends and keep cool!!

Lola is such a cutie! Glad to hear the rain cleared for her. I guess it is our version of the monsoons though we didn't get any rain up here.
Love the finds at the quilt show. Those buttons are sweet and the wool delicious!
Hope you can cool off a bit there.
Love those buttons.
Wonderful Finds !Lola looks like a sweet doggie.
We have gotten a little rain here in NC. Our temps have been many day in triple digits also , but we get breaks in weather and it only gets to around 103.You have my sympathy,110 must be rough to deal with .

The buttons are wonderful, can't wait to see what you do with 'em.

Ugh! I can't imagine how hot it must be. It's sooo hot here & it hasn't hit 100 in awhile. Just 97 & 98! ha!
I love those buttons. The daisies are my favorite! The wools are gorgeous colors. I can't wear wool, but I do love the way it looks. As for rain...this is the first summer that I've actually wished for rain almost daily. We had some Friday night, but we are right back into heat warnings and horrible. They say we may get some tonight...I hope so!
that wool is amazing and Im sorta sorry I didnt get them too!!!!! poor Lola:(
You introduced me to Bird Brain Designs last year and it has been Katie Bar the Door since.
Thanks............
Darn, I just lost a post.
Looks like some great buttons you found.
I love buttons, but when I find special ones, I don't want to use them, just look at them.LOL
We could tell it had rained a lot when we got back to GT on Sunday night. We left windows open, but doesn't look like any got in.
Hope you can find a cool place to sit and embroider. That sounds like fun to me.
