A while back I was going through some bins of fabric and crafting supplies out in my garage and I came upon this unfinished project...actually...it's almost done...it just needs some white on the roots of the onions...funny how so many memories flooded into my head when I saw this. Believe it or not...I started this project over 31 years ago...when I was pregnant with our older son...
We lived in a very tiny...and I do mean tiny... house with a big ugly fake brick wall above the sink in the kitchen...we had NO money of course and I was going to make something to put up on the wall so I wouldn't have to look at that fake brick paneling every time I washed dishes and cooked.
As you can see...I never finished it...we moved...had another baby very soon after...and somehow this got put in a box and was never finished...
Just look at all those French knots on that cauliflower...holy cow...that must have taken a long time! I've made so many projects since I started this...it seems as though that's what I do...go from on project to the next...gifts to make..items to sell...even a few to decorate our home...but somehow this one never made it into the finished pile...
I'd like to finish it...see how little I have left...but it won't be going up on my wall anytime soon...I have no place to put it...maybe my sons would like it...I can't say...for now I will put it away and see if anyone wants it...it's kind of sad in a way...so much work to sit in a box for 31 years...but that's what happens sometimes...we get so busy with life that we have these projects nearly done...that just sit...waiting patiently for us to pick them up again. I think I need to go through things and search out those unfinished projects and figure out why they are just sitting...maybe I can get a few done...I won't promise anything...but I will try!

I'm trying to finish a few projects! I have so many 'new' ideas that it's hard to finish those I've put down! ♥
How cool...or should I say Crewel! It's really neat and actually in style again. I say finish it!
Take care,
Angela
PS. If you do try the adjustable fabric straps, I'd love to see photos!
