A little front yard gardening...

Today I was a busy little bee in the front flower beds...
My lavender bush was buzzing with friends...they were nice enough to move as I trimmed...lavender is calming...do you think it calms the bees too?? I wonder.....
This time of year everything is growing so fast...I have pretty much a cottage type garden yard...where everything kind of goes where it wants...but sometimes things get a bit crazy out here...
Some of the plants get a bit too aggressive and crowd others out...so I mediate...and trim...everyone needs a bit more elbow room...
Poor St. Francis...he was getting swallowed up by the lamb's ear...this happens every year...it is getting ready to bloom...soon the bees will move over here....
I like a colorful yard...so I just plant everything...and some things just plant themselves...I'm not picky...I just don't go for tropical...in my yard...many things that are considered annuals just come back by themselves...or stay...they do not read the package that says they are just here for the season...and I am a big seed collector too...I just scatter everywhere...and take what I get!
The hummingbirds and carpenter bees love this red sage...I have a bunch of these...they are very drought tolerant...like most things here...they have to be...
This rose bush if full of buds...
And this is growing everywhere! It is one of those aggressive ladies...they range from this light color to a very dark blue....
The larger white flowers are sun Runuculas...I don't know if I spelled that right...they like the sun and bloom much later than the other ones...I planted these bulbs about 3 years ago...they bloom like crazy...the smaller ones are mums...snow carpet or something like that...I'm terrible at remembering all these gals names...they come back year after year...everywhere there's a patch of dirt!
They are crowing out this pink lady...but she doesn't seem to mind...
Here's my favorite part of the front...my red Japanese Maple...isn't she stunning!! I have another in the back...they were a very big splurge several years ago...and I couldn't be happier ...unless of course I had more!!She's in a happy mood right now since all her leaves are new and pretty...
It's hard to come inside after spending all day out here...but...other things need to be done...
Until next time...enjoy your day!!!

Gorgeous yard! I'm pretty jealous....grin. We have been trying to grow a Japanese Maple for over 13 years. We are on our 3rd one. Obviously we do not have a green thumb.

Love the garden pics! I would love a garden just like yours but I don't actually like gardening so that is probably never going to happen ...so in the meantime I will enjoy looking at pics of wonderful gardens :)

Everything is so pretty!!! Dean went to town with the trimmer this weekend. I'm hoping to do some planting this weekend. I've never planted seeds before.
