Buzzzzzzzzz...

I think my Oriole feeder has become a bee feeder....
I just can't keep these guys out of here the last couple of weeks...
They are even willing to commit suicide to get to this sweet water...every time I have emptied it the past couple weeks it is filled with dead bees...poor things...it's not like I don't have plenty of flowers...the smarter...or less lazy bees are there...this is just crazy...you should see how the birds have to chase the bees off to get a drink!!
In other news...I stepped on a bee yesterday afternoon...and of course it stung me!! I always remind Don to wear shoes out in the back when walking over by the apple tree because of all the bees...and silly me...going out barefoot to move the sprinkler...ouch...right in the crease of where my big toe attaches to my foot...it still hurts a bit...my toe feels stiff and sore...no more barefoot for me in the back!!
It's a nice day out today...the high is supposed to be 90...that's wonderful for August here! I gardened for a couple hours in the front yard and now I am going to spend the rest of the day sewing...I have some things cut out...I just have to get to work!!
Have a great day!!!

I get wasps and the occasional bee at my hummingbird feeder, but they've never been that thick!

We had such a huge bee problem last year. They built a hive under my husband's workshop and we had to raise it to get it out. Soooooo ready for fall.

Wow...are those honey bees? You need to stop by and see the hornets nest I took a picture of!

Ouch -- that bee sting must hurt!

I'd put that bee, I mean bird, feeder away for awhile so they bees will go back to helping pollinate the flowers!

Oh man, you sure don't wanna get stung. I hate bee stings. *shudder*
And the worst, of course, is the bottom of the feet!

I have put the feeder away for the Sumner...I think the Orioles will be fine...they are about to head to South America anyway pretty soon! My foot really itches today...but it feels better!

ACK!!!! We had a bee hive in our fire place a few years ago. It was horrible when they all decided it was time to come in the house.

Ouchy (as my grandkids say). I have had a few stings, but never on the foot. Those are some crazy bees. I have never seen them on a bird feeder like that. They don't bother my hummingbird feeder (but neither do the hummingbirds) hmmmm.
See you real soon.
