Back yard visitors...

We have a couple bird feeders in the yard and I love going out in the morning and watching the birds as they come to eat breakfast...sometimes I find them waiting for me, especially the scrub jays...they will sit in the apple tree waiting for me to pour a scoop of peanuts in their tray...
My pictures aren't the greatest here...my batteries just died, but this is a frequent visitor to my yard...we have a group of about 4 or 5 jays that visit every morning and this one can never make up his mind at which peanut to choose...come on...we're waiting...just pick one...they're all the same!

Oops! I dropped the one I really wanted...and oh there's another one down here...maybe I can take two! Silly jay!

I thought the 'little birds" as I call them looked pretty in the bare birch tree with the clouds behind them. The little birds are a mix of finches and sparrows...I don't get the most exciting birds in my yard...not like you gals in the east...no bright colored cardinals ...we get orioles and woodpeckers in the Spring, and a few others passing through on their way to more glamorous locations...but mostly these are my daily visitors. We are pretty plain in these parts.
Enjoy the day, my friends and stop and look at who's visiting your back yard!

Your bird photos are fantastic..I saw a cardinal two days ago, but my camera failed me, and I couldn't get any picture!

I love my feathered friends. We have had a wide variety. I keep a birding journal. Do you?

Love watching the birds. They are real performers, aren't they?

Love the jays, they do love the peanuts. Great yardbirds.

I took some shots of birds this morning. We had snow all day today and they came early to the feeders to stock up.

I so love "my" bird visitors. I have about 10 feeders and since it's been so cold, I've been having to fill them up often...sometimes as much as twice a day! I get a kick out of the woodpeckers - they plow through all the seed to pick out the peanuts or the sunflower seeds. That makes the Titmice and Chickadees very upset! :o)

XOXO,

Cyndi
