Autumn skies...

Yesterday was the hottest day of the year...it topped out at 112 in my neck of the woods. It's been hotter but this is by no means normal weather this time of year. I heard it was a record breaking day in Los Angeles , which is normally cooler than us as they are 60 or so miles west of here...anyway...i decided to go out early this morning to mow and garden to beat the heat and I found the skies above were most interesting...the picture above is a north west shot...
This is the sky directly north of my front yard...

This is the south east sky...

This is the southern sky...

And this last one is northeast...I thought it was interesting how different the sky looked just as I was facing a different direction...I was standing in the same spot on my drive way in the front, but it looks like different times of day to me ...I took all of these shots at about 8AM. It is supposed to be much cooler today..I went and checked the thermometer in my back yard and it reads 88...I can live with that...but it's a bit humid today and that's OK, because it's cooling things off.
I hope temperatures are agreeable in your neck of the woods and you have a great day!!

I can say it is just about perfect here today...sunny and 75! Of course it may be raining and 50 tomorrow! That's living in in the Midwest!
Take care,
Angela

We are hovering around the 70 degree mark today. Finally the heat has broken...maybe I shouldn't say that! lol

I heard about the record temps there. That's the kind of weather we have! It's starting to cool off a little though. Today it only got up to 83. Thanks for "visiting" me & your bird suggestion!

Nice photos! We had humid weather yesterday which is unusual, and right now it's only 61 and looks like rain.

What is up with the West coast? Here in the Vancouver area it was 80+ degrees and it barely cooled down over night. It did pour rain yesterday but it was still so hot and muggy.
Better weather than we had most of the summer for sure.

I know it was record breaking hot in LA, LInda. There has been such strange weather happening everywhere it seems.

The Sequoias we saw were in Yosemite National Park so they would not allow a gift shop in a tree but maybe the one you saw was up in the Redwood Forest area? We visited Muir Woods but did not get a chance to go up further North to the Redwood Forest. Maybe on our next trip we make to N CA we'll see them!
