I just realized its been a while since I last posted...life has gotten in the way...to say the least...we've been really busy! Here's a bit of what's been keeping me away...some gardening...now you may wonder what in the heck is she showing us...but I find this really fascinating...this is celery...after just 4 days in the ground...OK...you say...that's fast...but what's so fascinating about celery?? I grew this celery...or the beginnings of celery from the part of the stalk I always used to throw away...until now...who knew?? Well...maybe you did...but I didn't know this could be done...or I would have done it years ago!!I just cut off the bottom inch or so of the bottom...buried it...and 4 days later I have this! Now that's frugal gardening if I don't say so myself!
I've been sewing too...
last week I was into making zipper bags...here's a couple...I didn't think I'd show them all...I love making zipper bags...its as close to instant gratification as I can get...I needed some for my Etsy shop too...
I've been making more doll carriers too...
Lots and lots of doll carriers...it is my mission to have every little girl in the US have one of these! I've sold quite a few to Australia, Canada, Norway and Switzerland too...those international sales are exciting...all sales are...but to think that someone so far away would want to buy something I designed and made...amazing!
We got hungry this week too! Don and I have been walking a ton...and we have been getting faster and faster...so we need to eat!
We prepared and went to a flea market too...yesterday , in fact. Don made so many little boxes and I filled them up with all sorts of little succulent babies...
And we sold every single box we brought! That made me happy...this was something we did together...and so many people loved them and wanted to have them...we could have sold way more too...now that was exciting too! So its been a pretty good week for the most part... school has been going well...we went to San Diego to visit the kids...and the weather has been great...except for today...not that cold drizzly weather isn't great...but....oh and we are eating veggies from the garden everyday...lettuce and kale anyway...delicious!!
One worrisome thing though...a couple weeks ago...my Mom fell at my sister's birthday party...she was dancing away...trying to recapture her youth and BAM...down she went...it was scary...she got a bad break on her left wrist...and went into shock...it was scary...we got her to the hospital via the ambulance...and indeed she had a broken wrist. She is now in the hospital...with fractured ribs, a broken wrist and they have found clogged arteries...they put stints in two...but couldn't for some reason in the third...we have to wait to see what's happening next...its been hard on her...she's always on the go...but if I know my Mom...she'll be up and around...ignoring the doctors very soon!!
Until next time...enjoy your day!!!

I'm so sorry to hear about yur mother, I'll keep her in my prayers. Your succulents look wonderful, congrats on selling all of them. I have been taking free gardening seminars at my local nursery and next weeks topic is on succulents. Looking forward to that. You have been busy, love those zipper bags.
Oh, and one more thing....I did the same with my celery and it just turned black. Did you bury the entire thing in the dirt or did you just put the bottom in the dirt? I just covered the bottom with dirt and left the leaves out. My sister told me I should have used organic celery, maybe that was it.
OMG Linda, I"m so sorry to hear about your mother! Who would have thought that one minute you are dancing and the next you are in the hospital! Hope you have a great week!
So neat about the celery! I've heard of that trick before but never tried it. Frugal for sure!
Your zipper bags are so cute and I love the succulent boxes! No wonder you sold them all out, they are so cute!
So sorry to hear about your mom's accident. That must have been really scary. I hope she recovers quickly!
Had no clue about celery but Joe loves it so that is good to know. The zipper bags are darling. Succulents are hot not so I imagine you can sell bunches of them. xo, Olive
I am sorry to hear about your mom. It is really scary when we have to worry about our parents...I hope she bounces back quickly. I love the zipper bags and it sounds as if you are really doing well and having fun with all the talent at your house.
