I told you a while back that I had planted some Iceland poppy seeds that were different from the usual ones I plant each year...different from what I see around town too...they are finally blooming...so here they are...
Somehow this one snuck in with the package of seeds...its what I usually plant...I have tons of yellow and orange ones...I love them all...but I sure like my new ones...worth the wait!!
I love how the white is in the middle...they look very delicate...
Today the skies overhead look like this...I wish they would bring rain...
We don't normally get rain this time of year...it's much cooler today...I had a sweatshirt on when I started outside to garden...Don even said it was a bit chilly...but we still had on our shorts...
The first gladiola is starting to bloom in the front yard...its such a deep purple...the stupid gopher we can't seem to catch in the backyard ate some of the glad bulbs...I am so mad about that...they are all getting ready to bud...we saw the plant moving...knew it was that gopher...but we can't seem to outsmart him!
Here's a picture of last night's dinner..shrimp kabobs...the veggies except the mushrooms are from the garden...we pulled our first bell pepper...can't remember if I told you that...and we have a ton of the yellow ones you see here too. We also have a ton of tiny yellow squash...I was thinking of pulling a bunch and putting them in a stir fry tonight while they are young and tender...I think that will be good.
Not much else happening here...Don is still pulling bermuda grass...we gardened all morning...now its time to sew...I woke up with a project in my head this morning...so off to my cutting board I go!!
Until next time...enjoy the day!!!

Your poppies are beautiful. I love poppies - my dad always used to plant them and sweetpeas - lovely!
The unopened poppy is my favorite shot. We planted nearly dead plants today I got for one dollar-they will survive.
You are such a wonderful gardener. That first poppy looks as if someone painted it.
The poppies are so pretty! I have tried and tried to grow them with no luck. You must live in a climate that is good for them to grow.
Linda lovely pics and how yummy do those kebabs look.xx
Nice poppies! Even your yellow one looks like it has spots of red. I've seen red ones but not pink icelandic ones. Here they reseed themselves with abandon! That shrimp sounded and looks very yummy!
They are all gorgeous...especially the pale pink one! Awesome photography, too!

The new poppies are so delicate and a lovely shade!
Enjoy your sewing time!

Hi, Linda just love your poppies (even the yellow one) The pinks are so delicate and different and the shape of the petals is almost flirty!! AS for the Kebabs!!!!!

i've always really enjoyed succulents...their thick leaves and hardiness. maybe it's because my thumb isn't so green :)
