Peaches got picked too...there will be a lot of peeling and freezing going on in regards to these peaches...we thought the tree wasn't going to produce many this year...there are less, but they are good sized. The birds were starting to peck the top ones, so we pulled them all...they will ripen up fast enough in this heat! While out gardening today...I heard the loudest chirping...now I'm used to the birds and their noises...but this was different...then...
I found this little guy in my back yard...he was probably calling for his Mom...do you know how hard it is to catch a baby chicken when it runs between roses and bushes and trees...and it's 100 degrees out side!! Well...I can tell you I had to take a long rest after that! I'm getting too old for this...You know I'm used to creatures wandering into my yard...racoons, foxes, hawks...all kinds of birds ...but this is the first chicken! I have been thinking about getting some chicks...is this a sign?? No, actually I think it belonged to my neighbor next door...they have chickens and they were out and about this morning...this little guy probably got separated...and ended up in my yard...good thing I was out there, because something bad could have happened to it if I hadn't caught it. I brought it next door and put it with the other bigger chickens...gee...I hope it was theirs!! It is now!!
Enjoy your day, my friends...and I hope you're staying cool wherever you are!

He is so cute. Wishing I could find a baby chick in my back yard! Love your peaches. Our tree isn't producing this year.
WOW!!!! Look at all that fruit. Yummy!!! I don't envy you when you have to peel and clean them all though.
Oh wow, wonderful fruit. I love it all. Thank you for your visit.
What a cute little chickie discovery. I have a peach question for you. We have our first season of peaches and they are turning a beautiful peachy red. Is it time to pick them or do I need to let them get soft I don't want the birds to enjoy them before we do. btw...I live in SoCal and it's hot, hot, hot!
What a haul!!! The peach cobbler looks great. I made a Blackberry cobbler last night in my dutch oven. So easy and yummy!! Your day at the beach with Don looked wonderful too!!!
That looks good and I have a lot of nectarines. I have a similar recipe that only uses 2T butter, I think I'll use that.
