As promised, here is my latest creation. As I told you before, my sister gave me this striped fabric and that was the starting point. I love to embroider, so I thought adding that to a bag would be fun, so I made a patch pocket for the front. The pocket is lined with the fun polka dot fabric. 
Here is a snap shot of the inside. There are plenty of pockets to hold all kinds of things we like to carry around. This bag was a lot of fun to design and make.
My son, Stephen, has been over for a couple of days to visit us, so I haven't gotten much sewing or gardening done. We did take a nice 4 mile walk this morning around town. We even stopped in a new coffee shop on our walk. Then it was off to Lowes to buy some materials to repair the drawers on a dresser we had bought on one of our thrift store adventures.
I'm off to start another project...

That purse turned out great. I love the addition of the embroidery to it. So clever. I have only made one, and it is huge. I really only use it as a weekender type bag. Enjoy your son's visit.

You don't know what you've gotten yourself into with this blogging thing. You can kiss your spare time goodbye! Love the red tote with your embroidery. Can't believe all the detail and the price. I'd charge about $200 for that if I made it, but then I'd only have to make one cause no one would ever pay that. Good luck with your fun new ventures!

Linda, I would love to have your neighbor's number for painting. I have a guy coming out next week to give me a quote. We also need to find someone who can do some repair on the stucco that is falling apart on the back of the house. Would like to use one person for both painting and repair of stucco. We shall see.
